🌸 Did You Know There’s Another Day to Celebrate Love in Spring?
When most people think of love holidays, Valentine’s Day in February comes to mind. But here in Lithuania, we also have a beautiful, lesser-known celebration of love in the heart of spring — Meilės deivės Mildos diena, or Goddess Milda’s Day of Love, celebrated each year on May 13th.
đź’– Who is Milda?
Milda is the ancient Baltic goddess of love and freedom. She symbolizes not only romantic affection but also emotional freedom, tenderness, and connection. Unlike the commercial rush around February 14th, May 13th feels more grounded, more soulful — a celebration of genuine affection and free-spirited love.
This day is believed to have pre-Christian roots, deeply tied to nature’s rebirth and springtime energy. It’s the perfect reminder to express love in all its forms — not just to a partner, but to friends, family, and even yourself.
🎨 Introducing the LovDot Pattern — A Tribute to Milda’s Day
To celebrate this meaningful day, I created a special pattern called LovDot — a fusion of playful polka dots and symbolic hearts. Instead of traditional dots, each circle contains a hand-drawn heart, echoing the repeating rhythm of affection and connection.
The LovDot design is both elegant and bold, much like the goddess Milda herself. With a color palette of deep forest green and soft blush pink, it radiates warmth and emotional contrast — softness within structure, freedom within form.
🛍️ Celebrate Milda’s Day with LovDot
Whether you're drawn to the aesthetic or the deeper meaning, LovDot is a wearable reminder to lead with love — not just on one day, but every day. Available now in select items from my shop, this design honors Milda’s energy and invites you to carry a bit of spring love wherever you go.
✨ Celebrate love differently this year. Celebrate it the Baltic way.
