This time, I would like to talk about simplicity. I like simplicity in every area—simple choices, simple life. It makes everything easier. Nowadays, there are so many complicated pathways, especially in the digital world, where it’s easy to get lost. Many websites are so complex that even if you just want to learn something about Google and how it works, you end up with over 300 pages of information. One link leads to another, and so on. I don’t say that’s a bad thing, but people are different, and for me, it often leads to a headache—unless I know exactly what I’m searching for.
The same principle applies to everyday choices—not just in navigating the internet, but also in the things we buy and surround ourselves with.
I try to live a simple life, avoiding unnecessary complications. But simplicity doesn’t mean cheap or plain. For me, it means quality and thoughtful choices. It’s always better to have one good-quality item than 100 that fall apart quickly. This mindset also leads to a more sustainable lifestyle—fewer resources wasted, less pollution. Everything starts with us. I’d rather have one pair of shoes that might cost more but will last me for years. If the style is timeless, even better. When I was a teenager, I asked my mom to buy me a pair of shoes that were more expensive than we could really afford. But those shoes lasted me almost 22 years. That experience shaped my mindset—choosing simplicity with quality.
This principle has also guided how I built my e-shop. I wanted it to be simple and easy to navigate—no tricks, just the information you need. The same goes for my pattern designs: clean, intentional, and timeless. Patterns should be both visually striking and easy to integrate into everyday life. Simplicity in design doesn’t mean boring—it means clarity, beauty, and longevity.
For me, simplicity is not just a preference; it’s a way of living.
